The College at Brockport is a selective, state-supported, comprehensive liberal arts college. More than 7,100 undergraduate students choose from our 49 undergraduate majors. Each year more than 1,300 students transfer to the College from other institutions of higher learning, with most coming from SUNY community colleges.     Yes, Admission to The College at Brockport as a transfer student is competitive. Although a minimum grade point average of 2.50 is required for consideration, it does not guarantee admission. Most admitted students have a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Admission to The College at Brockport as a transfer student is competitive. Although a minimum grade point average of 2.50 (3.0 for Nursing Intent) is required for consideration, it does not guarantee admission. Most admitted students have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Transfer applicants must send official transcripts from every college/university attended. If you have fewer than 24 transferable credits, an official high school transcript is also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students with less than 24 transferable college credits are also required to submit official high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores for consideration.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    The College at Brockport does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    $50.00
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is not required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is D-.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The max credits accepted from a 2-year is 64, and 90 from a 4-year. You must earn 120 credits at SUNY Brockport to earn a bachelor's degree.
