Financial Information

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    The Richmond Of?ce of Financial Assistance is available to help students access a variety of funding programs, which include Scholarship awards, Grant awards, and Student Loans to assist students with meeting their fees and living expenses.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    Tuition fees for students residing in the United States of America are $27,000. Tuition fees, books, living costs and length of your program are the main items you will need to take into account in estimating the total costs.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A student’s Richmond Grade Point Average is based solely on courses completed at Richmond. Credits transfer in from other institutions, however grades do not.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions are required. If you have fewer than 30 credits or one year in a university level instituion, you must send secondary school academic records as well.
  • SAT Scores:
    Richmond does not publish a requirement for standardized test scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A Confidential Reference Form or Letter from a teacher or guidance counselor at your academic institution is required, and it must be sent in a sealed envelope.
  • Essay:
    A signed and dated essay (500 word essay) on one of three questions posed on the application is required. Also questions about extra-curricular activities, reasons for wanting to attend Richmond and an explanation for your decision to transfer are asked.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a nonrefundable $50 application fee.
  • Interview:
    Richmond does not publish a requirement for an interview.
  • Other Requirements:
    Regardless of the transfer credit awarded, transfer students must complete all Richmond Basic Skills, Core Curriculum and Lower Division and Upper Division major requirements that are not covered by equivalent transfer credit.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Grades must be at the US university standard of 'C' level or higher for consideration for transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Up to 75 credits (60 from 2-year colleges) will transfer towards the BA or BS degree. You are required to complete a min of 54 upper division credits (45 must be taken at Richmond). At least 36 upper div credits must be taken at Richmond in your major.
