Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimum GPA requirements vary by program. Having only the minimum GPA does not guarantee admission.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official high school are required if you have not completed a bachelor's degreee. Official college transcripts from all previously attended institutions are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Transfer applicants also must provide an SAT or ACT test score unless they have completed at least 24 credit hours of college level coursework or have been out of high school for at least five years.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Statement of good standing from prior institution(s) is not required for admission consideration.
  • Essay:
    An essay of 250-1,000 words from a list of 3 topics is required with your application.
  • Application Fee:
    Application fee of $30.
  • Other Requirements:
    Individual Purdue colleges and majors have varying criteria for transfer admission. Admission to any program could close at any time and students are advised to visit the Closed Programs page prior to applying.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C- or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must complete 32 credits at Purdue to receive a bachelor's degree.
