    A transfer class of about 60 students enroll at Providence College each year.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    We encourage applicants seeking to transfer to PC from other accredited colleges and universities to achieve a 3.0 G.P.A. (4.0 scale) or better in substantive liberal arts courses at your current college.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official high school transcripts and official transcripts from previously attended postsecondary institutions is required for admission consideration.
  • SAT Scores:
    Submission of standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) is optional for all students applying for admission.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A College Official's Report, which must be completed by a college or university official is required. An Instructor's Evaluation if not required, but is recommended.
  • Essay:
    A personal essay is required.
  • Application Fee:
    Non-refundable application fee of $55.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Course descriptions for all courses you wish to have considered for transfer to Providence College are required. These descriptions may be taken from your college catalog or the college's website.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must have a min of 12 credits to apply as a transfer student. Providence accepts a max of 56 transfer credits. You must complete 56 credits at Providence to earn a bachelor's degree.
