Prescott College is an independent, liberal arts college offering bachelor's, master's, Ph.D. degrees, as well as teacher certification. Our educational programs reflect the College's commitment to the environment and social justice. Prescott offers three programs for students of all ages and backgrounds. Students can live and study for an undergraduate degree in Prescott (Resident Degree Program), complete their undergraduate degree through our degree completion program (Adult Degree Program), earn their master's degree through our limited residency graduate program (Master of Arts Program), or pursue a Ph.D. in Education. Students can pursue a Teaching Certificate through any program.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Not published.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts of all college work is required. Transfer students who have successfully completed two full years of college study re not required to submit a high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    Standardized test scores are not required, but are recommended.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Transfer students may have a letter from anyone except family or a significant other.
  • Essay:
    A two to four page autobiographical essay reflecting on your past academic experiences and your educational goals is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $25 application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview may be required of some applicants.
  • Other Requirements:
    Prescott generally requires 16 courses be related to your competence (major) and 8 courses be related to your breadth (minor). Transfer credit can be used to satisfy these quantitative requirements.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Prescott College will transfer in college-level credit from regionally accredited US colleges or universities for courses in which a grade of C or the equivalent was obtained.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    All students, regardless of the delivery format, must complete a minimum of 120 semester credits before becoming eligible to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Prescott College. Up to 80-88 semester credits are accepted in transfer.
