Information for Transfer In Students

  • Technical/Vocation Credit Accepted:
    Occupational course credits earned more than 5 years prior to the time of request will not be accepted for transfer; certain occupational/technical programs may have more stringent requirements.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    There are three ways to obtain credit for prior learning at PTCC: credit by examination (CLEP), experiential learning (real world credit), credit by certification.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer credits are not used in calculating PTCC’s GPA, but are considered in the completion percentage when applied to program majors. Only courses with grades of C or above within specific program majors may be considered.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is no maximum to the number of credits a student may transfer. However, the college does require that a minimum of 1/3rd of program credits be completed at PTCC.
