Pfeiffer University first opened its doors in 1885 as a mission school founded to provide an education to students who had few opportunities for formal learning. Much has changed over the years, but we continue to emphasize the “service before self” principles on which we were built. Our emphasis continues to be servant leadership. The three areas through which we seek to provide personal growth and academic knowledge for our students are Christian service, service or engaged learning and co-curricular development. Our Bonner Leaders program, through which students receive educational scholarships based on hours of community service, is the largest in the country.
