Orange Coast College, located in Costa Mesa just minutes from Southern California’s beautiful beaches, was founded in 1948 with an opening day enrollment of 500 students. In the years since, it has grown into one of the nation’s largest -- and finest -- community colleges, enrolling more than 25,000 students each semester. Featuring exceptional facilities and the latest in computer and high-tech equipment, OCC offers more than 130 academic and career programs, including one of the nation’s largest and most acclaimed public nautical programs. Nearly half the students on campus are enrolled in one of OCC's career and technical programs. OCC ranks first out of Orange County's nine community colleges in the number of students it transfers.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    You must have successfully completed 15 or more college units with a GPA of 2.0 or better to waive the orientation requirement.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit unofficial transcripts. If you have successfully completed 15 or more college units you may submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts to the Matriculation Office to waive the orientation requirement.
  • Application Fee:
    Submit a non-refundable processing fee of $30.00.
  • Interview:
    Placement testing and/or proof of prerequisite completion must take place prior to your registration appointment or you will be blocked from registration. Appointments for placement testing can be made by calling (714) 432-5789.
  • Other Requirements:
    Students must take placement tests if they have not successfully completed math, chemistry, and/or English at another college.
