    Oglethorpe University offers a variety of strategies and resources to keep the net cost of an Oglethorpe education affordable. Both need-based aid and awards based on academic achievement are available.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from each college attended are required. Your high school transcript and test scores are also required if fewer than 24 semester hours of college credit have been completed.
  • SAT Scores:
    The submission of standardized test scores is not required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Print the recommendation form, and ask an instructor or counselor to complete it and submit it to the Office of Admission.
  • Essay:
    A 250-word essay academic essay must be completed as part of the admission application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable $40 application fee.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview with an Admissions Officer is not required; however, it is strongly recommended.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Acceptable work must be reflected on an official transcript and must be completed with a grade of “C-” or better. Oglethorpe does not accept a “D” grade as transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is a min of 12 credit hrs for transfer. OU accepts a max of 64 hrs of credit in transfer. A min of 64 hrs must be completed at OU as well as at least half of hrs required for a major, with 52 of the last 64 hours earned in residence.
