Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students transferring from unaccredited colleges with a GPA of at least C may be accepted on a conditional basis. The previous credit will be validated only after the successful completion of a semester’s work of at least 12 hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.00 at Oakwood University.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Transfer students must submit official transcripts from all schools attended. A high school transcript must also be submitted.
  • SAT Scores:
    The ACT or SAT requirement will be waived if the applicant has completed one quarter or semester each of college-level English and mathematics with a grade of C (2.00) or above.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A student transferring work from another college will be given credit only for work completed with grades of C- or above, and only grades of C or higher are accepted in a student’s major or minor field.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 64 semester hours may be accepted from a junior college.
