Founded in 1905, Northwest Missouri State University is a state-assisted, four-year regional university with a recognized tradition of quality education. We are governed by a state-appointed Board of Regents and accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Northwest provides outstanding academics, laptops and textbooks for all students, more than 150 student organizations and a friendly atmosphere. We offer more than 140 undergraduate majors and 73 minors. 95% of our tenure track faculty have the highest degree in their fields, and our classes are taught by full-time professors, not by graduate assistants.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students must have a 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale) cumulative college grade point average in transfer in order to be accepted to Northwest.
  • Official Transcripts:
    All transcripts from every college you have attended needs to be sent to the Admissions Office. If you have less than 24 hours of transferable credit, you must submit official high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    3.If you have earned less than 24 hours of college-level, transferable credit, you must request from your high school GPA, ACT/SAT scores and high school graduation date.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Northwest does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    Northwest does not publish a requirement for the submission of an essay.
  • Application Fee:
    Applying is free if it is done online. If not, the application fee is $25.
  • Interview:
    Northwest does not publish a requirement for a personal interview.
