North Lake College is a publically funded, open admission, two-year community college located in Irving, Texas. As a member of the Dallas County Community College District, North Lake serves the northwestern quadrant of Dallas County. The college opened in 1977 and is authorized to grant the Associate of Art, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts in Teaching, and Associate of Applied Science. The college also provides non-credit instruction, job training and personal enrichment courses. Instruction is offered in class, online, and in hybrid combinations of in-class and online.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students transferring to NLC with a GPA below 2.0 or an academic standing of probation, suspension, or dismissal from another institution will be required to follow North Lake College probation policies. This may require students to make an appointment with a probation advisor, enroll in a college success course, and/or limit their course selection and number of credit hours.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Send your official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities to Admissions. Credits will be transferred to North Lake only if an official transcript is on file with Admissions.
