Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    NCCC adheres to an open door rolling admission policy. Admission to the College, however, does not automatically guarantee admission to a particular curriculum or program. The Health Related Career Programs have specific GPA requirements.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school and college transcripts, from every institution attended, are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores may be submitted, but are not a requirement for admission.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required for general admissions consideration.
  • Essay:
    Not required for general admissions consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    The application process is free of charge, with the exception of a processing fee to cover additional placement test requirements in the Nursing, Radiologic Technology, and Massage Therapy programs.
  • Interview:
    Some programs require a personal interview.
  • Other Requirements:
    All transfer students will be tested in English and mathematics to assure proper placement. Some programs may require additional testing. Admissions to Health Related Career Programs are highly competitive and have additional requirements.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses where a grade of at least a C- has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Maximum credits transferred for an Associates degree - 31 credits. Maximum credits transferred for a Certificate - 15 credits.

Information for Transfer Out Students

  • Number of Transferring:
    SUNY students graduating with an A.A. or A.S. degree who wish to transfer directly to a four-year SUNY campus are guaranteed an opportunity to continue full-time study.
  • Transfer Agreements:
    NCCC maintains several Specific Cooperative programs and Transfer Articulation Agreements.
  • Special Programs:
    College representatives often visit NCCC to meet with students.
