Niagara University is a private coeducational liberal arts university founded in 1856 by the Vincentian Fathers and Brothers.     NU welcomes transfer students; we believe you are integral to the development of our student body and university community.
  • Transfer Applicants Enrolled:
    Each year about 250 students from two-year and four-year colleges from across the country choose to attend Niagara.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    High school and college transcripts, from every institution attended, are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A Counselor Recommendation is required.
  • Essay:
    Either a a graded paper from one of your college classes, a Personal statement that would include reasons that contributed to your choice to apply to Niagara or a A written statement explaining your choice of major is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $30 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are not generally required; although, these meetings provide an excellent opportunity for students to become aware of the many benefits of a Niagara education. Nursing Completion Program applicants must have an interview.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    All applicable coursework must have been completed with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is no minimum number of credits required. The total number of semester hours, or their equivalent, accepted for transfer credit is decided by the dean. Refer to the Credit Policy document linked below for more detailed information.
