Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The overall GPA and other admission requirements vary by major and four-year college.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school and college transcripts, from every institution attended, are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Not required for admissions consideration. However, SAT/ACT scores may exempt applicants from some College Placement Tests.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Essay:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    There is no application fee.
  • Interview:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Additional requirements: completion of prerequisites as required in the program of choice and completion of basic skills testing or exemption from testing. College catalogs from the previous institutions attended may be requested.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Courses must have a minimum grade of C (2.0) to be considered for transfer. S (Satisfactory) grades will also be considered, with the exclusion of certain Allied Health programs.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The maximum number of credits awarded cannot exceed one-half of the total credits required for the degree at NCCC. At least fifty percent of your degree requirements must be met at NCCC.

    Our placement rates at four-year institutions are exceptional.
  • Transfer Agreements:
    Dual Admission is a special transfer program developed in conjunction with selected four-year colleges/universities. The Dual Admission program is available for only certain colleges and certain majors.

    Transfer assistance, including application procedures and information regarding GPA and course requirements, is available from the Student Development Center.
