Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    To be admitted as a transfer student, the student must have earned at least twelve (12) transferable credits with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Students are required to submit ALL transcripts of all work completed after high school, regardless of intention to transfer work. If a student has less than 12 credits completed, an official high school transcript is also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If a student has less than 12 credits completed, national college entrance tests, ACT/SAT, will be used as benchmarks for placement in English and mathematics courses.
  • Essay:
    An essay is not required on the application.
  • Application Fee:
    A $30 non-refundable application processing fee must be submitted with the application.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    A student who has completed an Associate of Business, Associate of Art, or Associate of Science from a Nevada System of Higher Education institution will be admitted to Nevada State University regardless of the cumulative grade point average.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Grades below a “C-“ carry no credit towards major requirements.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    32 upper-division credits from NSU must be earned in residency before you receive a bachelor's degree. Completion of the upper-division nursing courses meets this requirement. 64 credits need to be completed at a four-year institution.
