    Each year over 200 students will transfer into Nazareth College.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher is preferred. Candidates for teacher certification must have a minimum grade point average of 2.7. Nursing program applicants must earn a minimum B average in nursing pre-requisite coursework to qualify for the program.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts are required if applying with less than 30 semester (45 quarter) credits. An official transcript must be submitted from each college or university attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required if applying with less than 30 semester (45 quarter) credits.
  • Essay:
    Applicants must complete the essay on the application. A second essay is required for applicants to the Education Certificate, Social Work or Physical Therapy programs.
  • Application Fee:
    The application fee is $45.00 and non-refundable.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required, but you are encouraged to meet with a transfer counselor.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Ordinarily, Nazareth College accepts a maximum of 60 credit hours from an A.A. or A.S. degree from a fully accredited two-year college. If a student receives an A.A.S. degree, credits are evaluated on a course-by-course basis.
  • Other Requirements:
    Applicants at the junior level must declare a major at the time of application.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A grade of C or higher is required for consideration of transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students who do not have an AA or AS degree and wish to transfer credits to Nazareth from fully-accredited two- or four-year college will have those credits awarded on a course-by-course basis.
