Muhlenberg College is an independent liberal arts institution located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, about fifty-five miles north of Philadelphia.   • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    To be considered for need-based aid, you must submit the FAFSA and the Muhlenberg College Scholarship and Aid Application. For additional information, contact the Office of Financial Aid at 484-664-3175 or by email at finaid@muhlenberg.edu. The primary component of a student's financial aid package is the Muhlenberg College Grant, which does not need to be paid back and is renewable for four years based on academic progress and family financial circumstances.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    Total Annual Comprehensive Tuition & Fees = $58,005. Dorms range from $7,310-$9,725. Part-time day students pay $4,045 per unit. Board ranges from $1,585-$6,130. Other fees may apply based on circumstance and program of study.

Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Each semester we enroll full-time transfer students who have demonstrated academic achievement in high school and college, quality of character and the potential to contribute to our community in meaningful ways.
  • Transfer Applications Accepted:
    Typically we admit 30-40 transfers every fall and another 10-15 for spring.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) is required of transfer applicants.
  • Official Transcripts:
    An official copy of your high school transcript with graduation date and official college transcripts are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Not required - students may apply test optional. If submitting test scores, ACT or SAT scores can be self-reported on your Common Application or you may submit a copy of your score reports via email to transfer@muhlenberg.edu.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    One letter of recommendation from a college professor is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is no application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview with a member of the Admissions Team is required. If you are reopening a previous application, you are still required to interview even if you have previously done so.
  • Other Requirements:
    Complete and submit a Mid-Term Report and a College Report from the Common Application. International applicants must provide a copy of their passport and a Certificate of Finances form.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only courses for which a grade of “C-” or better was earned will be considered for transfer to Muhlenberg. Courses not using a traditional letter grade (A-F) will be considered for transfer only with documentation detailing successful completion.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    At least 16 course units must be completed at Muhlenberg College. No more than 16 non-Muhlenberg course units (whether transferred or awarded for test scores) may contribute to the 32 course units required to earn a bachelor’s degree at Muhlenberg.
