Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A sustained, rigorous academic curriculum with an overall B average (3.0 GPA) is required for transfer admission consideration.
  • Official Transcripts:
    An official transcript from ALL regionally accredited colleges and/or universities previously attended are required. Students with less than 30 completed college credits must submit a high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students with less than 30 completed college credits must submit a high school transcript with SAT and/or ACT scores.
  • Essay:
    A Personal Statement and listing of any courses in progress are to be submitted online in the application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $65 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    If you are applying for any of the programs in the College of the Arts (e.g., Fine Arts, Music, Theatre, Dance, Communication Studies, or Broadcasting), you are required to complete an interview, audition, or portfolio review in order to be considere

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only grades of C- or better are accepted in transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A minimum of 32 credit hours of the total required for the bachelor degree must be completed in residence at Montclair. The final 24 credit hours required for graduation must be taken at Montclair and cannot be acquired through transfer.
