Located in downtown New Rochelle, NY, a thriving suburban community in Westchester County, the Monroe College New Rochelle campus is nestled in a diverse area that includes small shops and large stores, neighborhood restaurants and chains, and the mammoth New Roc City entertainment and shopping complex that contains movie theaters, a skating rink and arcade. There are six academic buildings on the New Rochelle campus, including a state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Center, which was opened right in the center of the campus in October, 2006.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Monroe College's transfer policy provides an opportunity for students with various types of prior education to transfer credit to their program of study based on evaluation.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    Students with relevant work experience, primarily adult and returning students, may receive up to 12 credits for Prior Learning Experience based on their work history and relevance to their field of study.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer applicants seeking direct admission to the bachelor’s program should possess a major area cumulative grade point average of 2.50.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Have high school academic records and official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions forwarded to the campus you plan to attend.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT scores are only required if applying for a scholarship.
  • Essay:
    Please describe in detail (at least 250 words) the personal growth you hope to gain from a college education at Monroe.
