Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students must be in good academic standing at their previous college in order to be accepted into Molloy College, carrying a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 for most majors. Only credit hours are accepted in transfer; the cumulative average begins with a student's first semester at Molloy.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Forward all official college transcripts describing the courses for which credit is to be claimed. Transfer students who have completed less than 30 credits in the liberal arts and sciences must submit proof of high school graduation.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required if applying within a year of high school graduation. Applicants who score a minimum of 480 on the Critical Reading section of the SAT exam may be exempt from reading courses.
  • Essay:
    The essay section is an opportunity for you to help us become acquainted with you in ways different from courses, grades, test scores and other objective data.
  • Application Fee:
    $30 non-refundable Application Fee.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is strongly suggested for all. Applicants to the following programs must have a portfolio review, audition or interview: Music Performance, Music Therapy, Art, Nuclear Medicine and Health Information Technology, Social Work.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses where a grade of at least a C has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The last 30 credits toward graduation normally must be completed at Molloy. In addition, students must take at least one-half of the major requirements at the College.
