Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    MSU-Mankato requires a minimum GPA of 2.0 for transfer.
  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of official transcripts from all previously attended institutions is required. If you have fewer than 24 semester hours, you must submit an official high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have fewer than 24 semester hours for transfer, the submission of official ACT scores is required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A statement of good standing from your previously attended institution is required.
  • Essay:
    The submission of an essay may be required of some applicants.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a nonrefundable $20 application fee.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    Anyone with military experience must apply as a transfer student.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The minimum grade requirement for transfer is "D."
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You may transfer a maximum of 64 credits from a 2-year institution and 98 from a 4-year. A minimum of 30 credits must be completed at Mankato to earn a bachelors degree.
