Midway University, located in Midway, Kentucky, is a private, non-profit liberal arts college, founded in 1847 by Dr. Lewis L. Pinkerton, as the first school in the United States to serve orphaned and disadvantaged women. Through the years the school evolved and became Pinkerton High School, Midway Junior College, Midway College, Midway University. Today, Midway University is a leader in providing educational opportunities for men and women who wish to continue their education. Many programs are offered in an accelerated format where students attend classes one evening per week or online anytime. The main campus day program still operates as Kentucky’s only women's college and provides a unique learning and living opportunity for women.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum requirement for transfer admission consideration is a 2.0 college GPA (4.0 scale)
  • Official Transcripts:
    Arrange to have an official copy of your high school record sent to the Office of Admissions as well as official copies of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended (this includes technical and for-profit institutions).
  • SAT Scores:
    The minimum requirement for transfer admission consideration are 18 ACT / 1290 SAT.
  • Application Fee:
    A $25 application fee is required for all paper applications. The application fee is waived if you choose to apply online.

    Credits with grades of "C" or better may be transferred to Midway. All accepted credits may not count toward the specific degree requirements of the chosen major at Midway.
