Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Students that are 19 years-of-age and younger and have more than 24 transferrable credits will be considered as a transfer student (unless courses were completed while in high school) for admission purposes.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Official college transcripts from all institutions previously attended are required. If you have fewer than 24 transferrable credits, your high school transcript is required.
  • SAT Scores:
    You may be eligible for admission without standardized test scores. However, if you have test scores less than 5 years old (ACT or SAT), it is still a good idea to submit them as these scores can be helpful for advising and course placement
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement may be required of some applicants.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer credit is accepted only for those classes in which a grade of “C-” or better is earned and in which class content is similar to that of coursework offered at MSU Denver.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    We award up to 64 semester hours of transferable credit from two-year institutions and up to 90 semester hours from four-year institutions or from a combination of two-year and four-year institutions.
