Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimum admissions requirements for transfer students are: 2.5 cumulative grade point average with 24 credits or less or 2.0 cumulative grade point average with more than 24 credits.
  • Official Transcripts:
    The submission of official transcripts from each college attended is required. You must also submit your high school transcript if you have not earned an associate degree.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have fewer than 12 transferable credits, the submission of standardized test scores is required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    MCLA does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    The submission of a personal statement is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $35 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    MCLA does not publish a requirement for an interview.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Grades of C- and above will be accepted for transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    MCLA will accept a maximum of 75 credits in transfer. One-half of a student's major must be completed at MCLA. A minimum of 45 credits at MCLA is required, and 39 credits must be upper level coursework (300 level and above).
