Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Admission with a 2.0 acceptable but transfer students with a 2.5 and enrolled at another college may be admitted pending receipt of the final transcript. Students with less than a 2.5 and currently enrolled at another college submit a final transcript.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Transfer applicants with fewer than 26 earned semester hours must also submit an official high school transcript with graduation date. Official transcripts from the Registrar’s Office of all accepted, accredited institutions attended are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Transfer applicants with fewer than 26 earned semester hours must also submit their ACT or SAT scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    All transfer students must be eligible to return to the institution they most recently attended.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required for admission consideration.
  • Application Fee:
    In lieu of the application fee, transfer students must pay a $50 transcript evaluation fee.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    The app must be complete, including the statement of activities section, before transfer students can be considered for admission to the university. A valid immunization record, including measles and rubella, is required of all transfer students.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Minimum grade of a C or higher must be applied to all courses for transferable credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    72 credits completed at CC or branch colleges may be applied toward graduation at Marshall University. You must complete 24 credits at Marshall to recieve your bachelor's degree.
