An independent, co-educational, residential college of 2,500 students, Lynchburg College provides a sophisticated academic experience in a small-school environment. We offer over 40 majors and minors; graduate programs; in-depth research opportunities, as well as study abroad and interdisciplinary courses; and average class sizes of 17, with an overall student-faculty ratio of 12:1. Transfer Application Requirements

Minimum GPA:

You must be in good academic standing and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher to be considered for transfer admission.
Official Transcripts:

Send official transcripts from each college attended indicating all courses attempted. Students with 25 or more college credit hours do not have to submit high school information unless requested to do so.
SAT Scores:

Students with 25 or more college credit hours and students who graduated from high school two or more years ago are not required to submit SAT/ACT test scores.
Letters of Recommendation:

A letter of recommendation from a college professor, advisor or employer is not required, but is strongly recommended.
Essay:

The submission of a personal essay discussing your personal goals and reasons for wanting to attend Lynchburg College is optional.
Application Fee:

If you apply online, the $30 application fee will be waived automatically.
Interview:

An interview is not required but is beneficial. You can receive your unofficial credit evaluation during your interview.
Other Requirements:

Nursing applicants must meet additional requirements. Transfer students who are 25 years of age or older are considered Access Transfer Students and should use the Access Student Check Sheet.

Transfer Credit Policy

Minimum Grade:

The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is C.
Credits (Min/Max):

76 credits is the maximum that can be transferred from another institution. You must earn 48 credits and complete 50% of your major at Lynchburg to receive a bachelor's degree.
