Lurleen B. Wallace Community College is a public, two-year institution in the Alabama Community College System under the governance of the Alabama State Board of Education.   • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    The Lurleen B Wallace Community College office offers a variety of programs and assistance for students seeking funding for their education. This includes the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG), WIA/TAA, Vocational Rehabilitation, scholarships and other programs.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A transfer student whose cumulative grade point average at the transfer institution(s) is 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale will be admitted on clear academic status. A transfer student whose cumulative grade point average at the transfer institution(s) is less than 2.0 on a 4.0 scale will be admitted only on Academic Probation.
  • Official Transcripts:
    A transfer student must have submitted official transcripts from all regionally accredited postsecondary institutions attended, and, as designated by the College, any other documents required for first-time college students.
  • SAT Scores:
    Must have an ACT score of at least 20.
  • Other Requirements:
    -A completed LBWCC Application for Admission -An acceptable form of identification -COMPASS Placement test results

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A transfer grade of “D” will only be accepted when the transfer student’s cumulative GPA is 2.0 or above at the time of admission. If the student has a cumulative 2.0 or above, the “D” grade will be accepted the same as for native students.
