  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    You must complete the FAFSA for each academic year you would like to receive aid. To increase your chances of being considered for programs with limited funds, complete the FAFSA as soon after October 1 as possible. LSU's financial aid process begins with the summer term. We are committed to providing transfer opportunities to those active members of PTK, LA citizens who want to pursue a bachelor's degree after completing an associate degree at an LCTCS institution.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    Total Estimated Yearly Direct Cost (based at 15 credit hours): $24,500 LA Resident, $41,177 Non-Louisiana Resident. This includes tuition & fees, books & supplies, average dorm price, the 12 Tiger meals plan, transportation, and personal expenses.

    A transfer student is any student who has graduated from high school and attempted college coursework after graduation.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum college GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) is required of transfer applicants.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Transfer applicants should send an official transcript from each college or university attended as well as an in-progress transcript if currently enrolled. A high school transcript is required if you have earned less than 30 transferable hours.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students who have earned less than 30 college-level, transferable hours by the start of semester you have applied for will need to submit an official ACT or SAT score report.
  • Application Fee:
    The first step in the application process is to complete an online application for admission and pay the $50 non-refundable application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    A statement of good standing from prior institutions may be required of some applicants.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transfer for credit is D.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    There is no limit to the number of semester hours that may be transferred for credit. You must complete 30 hours at LSU to earn a bachelor's degree.
