The Brentwood Campus, which serves a total enrollment of 1,200 graduate, undergraduate and non-credit students, is located on 172 acres of tree-lined property. An undergraduate program is offered in Criminal Justice. Classes are small and personalized. Students take advantage of a full range of computer and library facilities, including networking to the University's mainframe systems. The Campus schedules most of its courses during late afternoons, evenings and on weekends.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    The Brentwood Campus is registered with the State of New York as a campus that offers upper-division undergraduate and graduate education. Transfer students from two-year or four-year institutions may complete a four-year degree in Criminal Justice.
  • Transfer Agreements:
    Long Island University’s Brentwood Campus has developed articulation agreements with Nassau County Community College and Suffolk County Community College.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    For admission as a transfer student, the Office of Admissions generally considers a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on the college record.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts are required if applying with less than 24 credits. College transcripts from every institution attended are required. Students who are 25 years of age or older need only submit high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required if applying with less than 24 credits.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required.
  • Essay:
    Not required.

  • Associates Degree Required:
    A student transferring to the Brentwood Campus with a conferred associate’s degree from an accredited institution will receive a maximum of 72 credits including those with earned grades of (D) and better.

    The Brentwood Campus does not admit first-time freshmen.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses taken at accredited institutions where a grade of at least a C- has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students from 4-year colleges must be in academic residence for the final 32 credits, 9 must be completed in the major. Students from 2-year colleges must complete a minimum of 56, 9 in the major. A max of 72 credits are accepted from 2-years.
