Scholarships and Financial Aid:
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only application required and accepted by LSSU to apply for federal, state and institutional financial aid. LSSU School Code: 002293. Eligible transfer students must be entering LSSU for the first time directly from another college (students sitting out more than one semester are not eligible for scholarship consideration) with a minimum of 12 earned credits.
Tuition and Fees:
Fall/Spring: $6,456/semester (12-16 credits), $538/credit hour (1-11 credits, 17+ credits. Winter/Summer: $4,308/semester (12-16 credits), $359/credit hour (1-11 credits, 17+ credits. Additional athletic, administrative & activity fees = $285.

An LSSU transfer student is defined as a student who attends a post-secondary institution after high school graduation, and then applies to Lake Superior State University.

Transfer Application Requirements
Minimum GPA:
A transfer student must possess a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and be eligible to return to their previous institution(s). Some programs have unique admission/application requirements, including minimum GPA requirements.
Official Transcripts:
If you have 12 or more earned college credits, submit all official college transcripts. If you have less than 12 earned college credits, submit all official college transcripts AND an official copy of your final high school transcript.
SAT Scores:
Standardized test scored may be required of some applicants.
Essay:
An essay or personal statement may be recommended for some applicants.
Interview:
An interview may be recommended for some applicants.
Other Requirements:
You may be asked to provide course descriptions or syllabi to assist in the evaluation process.

Transfer Credit Policy
Minimum Grade:
You must earn a C- (1.7 honor points) or better to receive transfer credit at LSSU.
Credits (Min/Max):
There is no limit to the number of credits you can transfer in. You must earn 32 credits, 50% department required 300/400 level courses at LSSU to earn your bachelor's degree; and 15, 50% department required courses to earn your associate degree.
