Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A cumulative college grade point average of 2.00 is required.
  • Official Transcripts:
    A student applying by transferring from another college or university must file with the Admissions Office complete transcripts of all studies taken at the secondary and college levels.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have not completed 12 quarter/8 semester units of transferable credit an ELIGIBILITY INDEX Table is used for admission which uses: the selective GPA [“A-G” high school subject requirements] and the total SAT 1 [Critical Reading + Math] or ACT.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Submit academic references or letter of recommendation for admisison consideration.
  • Essay:
    Submit a personal statement of no less than 250 words describing their achievements, academic goals, and why they have chosen La Sierra University.
  • Application Fee:
    $30 nonrefundable application fee (this can be waived if you meet with your enrollment counselor or apply online)
  • Interview:
    La Sierra University does not publish a requirement for an interview.
  • Other Requirements:
    A transfer student is defined as a person who has completed 12 quarter units (8 semester) of transferable college credit. If appropriate college English and College Algebra classes have not been completed, LSU placement testing will be required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    If a person who has not completed 12 quarter units/8 semester of transferable college credit they must have high school grades with grades of “C” or better. No college credit minimum grade requirement.
