Transfer Application Requirements
Minimum GPA:
Of those transfer students admitted for the 2009-2010 academic year, the average grade point average was a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale.
Official Transcripts:
Official transcripts are required from each college you have previously attended. If you have fewer than 24 hours of transferable credit, we consider your high school transcript.
SAT Scores:
Illinois State also considers your official ACT/SAT scores if you have fewer than 24 hours of transferable credit.
Letters of Recommendation:
Illinois State does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
Essay:
You are required to answer an essay with your application.
Application Fee:
You are required to submit a $40 nonrefundable application fee. An applicant denied admission, or one who fails to submit all necessary information for an admission decision, will not be refunded the fee.
Interview:
Illinois State does not publish a requirement for a personal interview.

Transfer Credit Policy
Minimum Grade:
Illinois State awards transfer credit only for grades of D or better. Some departments and schools require grades of C or better.
Credits (Min/Max):
A max 0f 70 semester hours from a 2-year, and a max 90 from a 4-year are accepted. You must earn a minimum of 30 credit hours at Illinois State to receive your bachelor's degree.
