  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    There are three categories of federal student aid: grants, loans, and work-study. Grants provide financial aid which does not have to be repaid. Loans provide borrowed money that must be repaid with interest. Work-study allows student to earn money to help pay for educational expenses while enrolled in school.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students having a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better may be admitted to their appropriate class standing upon review of their official transcript(s). Transfer students with less than a 2.00 cumulative GPA from previous college work are required to petition for admission. Petitioned applications will be considered individually and admission is not guaranteed. Petitions may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Please request each college or university you've attended to send official transcripts to the office of Undergraduate Admissions. If you have fewer than 14 transferable credits, official high school transcripts are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have fewer than 14 college credits earned and under age 21, ACT or SAT scores must be submitted. The COMPASS test may be required for acceptance.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $50 application fee.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Students earning their A.A. or A.S. degrees from a U.S. academic regionally accredited institution or who have met Idaho's State Board of Education general education core subject requirements may transfer a maximum of 70 credits to Idaho State.
