Founded in 1842, Hollins was the first chartered women’s college in Virginia and has been a leader in liberal arts education for women ever since, producing graduates who enter a wide range of professions. Hollins is the perfect setting for students who value small classes, a creative atmosphere, and talented professors. We offer an undergraduate program for women and seven coed graduate programs -- all on a campus described by Hollins graduate and Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Dillard as a place “where the grass is green and the mountains are blue, where friendships thrive, minds catch fire, careers begin, and hearts open to a world of possibility.”
