Henderson Community College offers a high-quality, targeted education to meet the professional and personal goals of all Kentuckians. In the fall of 1960, the Northwest Center of the University of Kentucky opened its doors for the first time to 256 Henderson, Union, and Webster County residents. In 1964, the Northwest Center became Henderson Community College (HCC), a charter member of the University of Kentucky Community College System. HCC currently enrolls more than 2200 students in academic, technical and transfer programs and provides training for more than 4,000 citizens through its continuing education program. Henderson Community College became a member of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System in 1998.

    An education here at HCC is an especially good value. Tuition costs are very affordable, especially for residents of Kentucky and those from select counties in Indiana and Illinois. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    An applicant who has previously attended an accredited college or university which awards degrees at the associate level or higher and who has an overall grade-point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in all course work attempted will be accepted for admission.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Applicants entering with transfer credit must have an official transcript from each college attended forwarded to the Admissions & Records Office.
  • SAT Scores:
    Applicants should submit results of the American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Applicants who have not taken the ACT or SAT must complete the COMPASS or ASSET placement examination administered by any college of KCTCS.
  • Other Requirements:
    While orientation isn’t required of transfer students, we recommend transfer students attend so you can learn the policies and procedures at Henderson Community College.
