Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU) is the premiere tribal university in the United States, offering quality education to Native American students. Haskell’s student population averages about 1000 per semester, and all students are members of federally recognized tribes. Haskell’s faculty and staff is predominantly native. Haskell offers Associate and Bachelors degrees. Haskell’s historic campus is centrally located in Lawrence, KS in what is known as Kaw Valley.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    If an applicant has, at minimum, a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale at their previous college, as well as completed ALL required application materials, they are eligible for acceptance as a transfer student.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official college transcripts are required.
  • Application Fee:
    $10 nonrefundable
  • Other Requirements:
    Students applying must be an enrolled or official member of a Federally recognized tribe eligible for education benefits from the BIA or at least 1/4 total degree Indian blood direct descendent of an enrolled member of an eligible tribe.
