Greenville College is a four-year, Christian college providing a quality liberal arts education for over 1600 traditional, adult-degree-completion and graduate students. Founded in 1892, Greenville College is located in Greenville, Illinois, about 45 miles from St. Louis on I-70, and is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church. Approximately 96% of our students receive financial assistance in the form of merit scholarships, institutional awards and grants, federal and/or state assistance, as well as low-interest student loans and work study opportunities.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Occasionally students are admitted with a grade point average less than 2.0 on a 4.0 scale at their current institution.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from high school and/or from any college previously attended (and a college catalog including course descriptions) should be submitted for evaluating any transfer work.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you will be transferring in with less than 30 transferrable college credits, please request a copy of your ACT or SAT scores to be sent to Greenville College.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Academic and personal references may be requested.
  • Essay:
    A 400-500 word writing sample is required with your application for admission.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $25.00 application fee for the paper application, or a $10 application fee for the online application.
  • Interview:
    The College reserves the right to request a personal interview prior to the admission decision.
  • Other Requirements:
    Visit Campus. Turn in your housing enrollment and immunization forms. Turn in your $200 enrollment deposit.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Courses to be transferred must be C- or better from each institution and apply to the student’s program at Greenville.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 86 semester credits may be accepted from four-year colleges and universities. A maximum of 66 semester credits can be accepted from two-year institutions (junior or community colleges) or from Bible colleges.
