Great Basin College offers associate and baccalaureate level instruction in career and technical education and academic areas. About 3,500 students are enrolled in campuses and centers across 62,000 square miles of rural Nevada. Great Basin College provides higher education and technical training to students in rural Nevada. Its main campus is in Elko, with branch centers in Battle Mountain, Ely, Pahrump and Winnemucca, and satellite centers in 19 communities across rural Nevada. The college engages in a variety of state of the art distance learning platforms as well, inluding interactive video and web based technologies.

    GBC has many resources to assist you in funding your studies. The most desirable forms of financial aid for students are scholarships and federal grants, which do not need to be repaid. Another option is a federal student loan, which will need to be repaid with interest. Veterans may be entitled to additional benefits.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    If you plan to transfer courses to GBC, please have an official transcript sent to Admissions and Records.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    A student transfering to GBC with an AA or AS from a regionally accredited college or AB from an NSHE (state of Nevada) Institution will be considered by GBC to have fulfilled the GBC lower-division general education requirements.
  • Other Requirements:
    GBC will evaluate your transcripts from other colleges, provided that you've both applied and declared a major.
