Governors State University is the only public university in Chicago’s rapidly growing south suburban area, serving approximately 6,000 students during the course of a year. Transfer Application Requirements

Minimum GPA:

The minimum GPA requirement for transfer admission consideration is a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
Official Transcripts:

Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges is required.
SAT Scores:

The submission of official standardized test scores is not required for transfer admission consideration.
Letters of Recommendation:

Governors State University does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
Essay:

You may be asked to submit an essay or personal statement with your application.
Application Fee:

There is a $25 nonrefundable application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

Minimum Grade:

Most college level credits from a regionally accredited college or university will transfer as long as the general rule, a grade of “C” (2.0) or higher is met.
Credits (Min/Max):

You must earn 24 credits at Governor's State to earn your bachelor's degree.
