    Golden Gate University School of Law administers a full range of programs to help students fund their education. Funding can be met with a combination of scholarships, federal work study, federal loans (Perkins, Stafford, PLUS) and private loans.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    To be considered for admission to undergraduate programs, you should have attained a community college, college, or university cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official law school transcripts and syllabi for all law school coursework.
  • SAT Scores:
    Golden Gate does not publish a requirement for the submission of standardized test scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letter of good standing from the current law school. Letter of recommendation from a current law professor.
  • Essay:
    Personal essay explainingwhy the applicant wishes to study at GGU Law.
  • Application Fee:
    Non-refundable $60 application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview (by telephone or in person) with the dean of Undergraduate Programs may be required in some cases if you have less than 24 semester units of transfer credit.
  • Other Requirements:
    Copy of the applicant's LSAC Credential Assembly Service (CAS) Report.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only courses with grades of C- or better will transfer for undergraduate programs.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Transfer credit cannot exceed 93 units. A maximum of 70 semester units may be transferred from 2-year colleges. Candidates for bachelor's degrees must complete at least 30 units at GGU, including 21 units of upper division required for the Major.
