Georgia Northwestern Technical College was established in July 2009 from the merger of Coosa Valley Technical College (CVTC) and Northwestern Technical College (NTC). For over 45 years, both CVTC and NTC have been instrumental in providing quality workforce education to the citizens of Northwest Georgia. The tradition of excellence in workforce education will continue through Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC). With an annual credit enrollment of 8,200 students, GNTC is the largest college in Northwest Georgia and the fifth largest technical college in the state of Georgia.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    If you have successfully completed (C or better) a minimum of 30 semester credit at the degree level, you may submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges accredited by an accepted agency in lieu of a GED or high school diploma.
  • SAT Scores:
    Satisfactory scores on the COMPASS, SAT, ACT, or the ASSET Test or equivalent program-level English and math coursework with a "C" or better may be used in lieu of completing the placement test.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Nursing program applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from your former nursing program director.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $20 non-refundable application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    All Nursing, Allied Health, and Health Technology programs have additional admission requirements.
