Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    To be competitive for transfer admission consideration, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale. The cumulative GPA includes all courses taken at all colleges and/or universities attended. You must also have a Math/Science GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale: This calculation includes a combination of all mathematics courses at the calculus level and higher, along with all natural science courses including both lecture and laboratory components.
  • Official Transcripts:
    For U.S. college or university coursework, official transcripts from all schools ever attended are required. High school transcripts are not required unless specifically requested by the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
  • SAT Scores:
    Georgia Tech does not require test scores such as SAT, ACT, or TOEFL for transfer admission consideration.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $65 non-refundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    Transfer applicants are reviewed for one major only and may not apply as "undecided."

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Georgia Tech generally grants credit for any course from an accredited college or university that corresponds to a course in our curriculum in content and credit value when the student has achieved a C grade or higher in the course.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    You must complete 36 credits in residence at Georgia Tech to earn your bachelor's degree.
