Georgia Highlands College serves Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama predominantly as a two-year, associate degree-granting institution and with limited bachelor degree options. Founded as Floyd Junior College in 1970, it now serves more than 4,700 students in the region. To maximize convenience, Georgia Highlands has expanded its offerings of online, DVD, & hybrid courses and now has five convent campus locations across Northwest Georgia located in Cartersville, Douglasville, Floyd, Marietta and Paulding. Additionally, the college maintains cooperative programs with regional technical colleges so that students can earn workforce-ready degrees.
