Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA requirement for transfer admission consideration is a 2.5. Applicants to the Generic Nursing Program must have a 2.75.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions are required. If you have fewer than 30 transferable semester hours (45 quarter), you must apply as a freshman and submit your official high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    If you have fewer than 30 transferable semester hours (45 quarter), you must apply as a freshman and submit official SAT/ACT scores. Applicants to the Nursing Program must also submit official scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letter of Recommendation are not required; however they are suggested, as is a resume.
  • Essay:
    Two mandatory essay questions (200-400 words) are included on the application.
  • Application Fee:
    The non-refundable application fee is $35 for an electronic application or $40 for a paper application.
  • Interview:
    GCSU does not publish a requirement for a personal interview.
  • Other Requirements:
    The College of Education, College of Health Sciences, and some programs in the College of Arts & Sciences have separate and competitive admissions application procedures beyond admission to the university.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    GCSU does not publish a minimum grade requirement for transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The successful transfer applicant will demonstrate his/her potential for success by having earned 30+ transferable semester credit hours (45 transferable quarter hours). A max of 80 transferable semester hours may be applied toward a degree at GCSU.
