Gateway provides residents and business of the Greater New Haven area with innovative educational programs as well as social and cultural opportunities. Each year more than 14,000 individuals choose from the more than 100 accredited degree and certificate programs at Gateway Community College which they take for college credit, professional development and personal enrichment.   • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Transfer students are responsible for Pell funds used at their previous college or business school for the current academic aid year. Students cannot receive aid at two different institutions at the same time. Transfer students must make sure to notify the previous schools Financial Aid Office when transferring institutions. Early notification can decrease the possibility of grant overpayment, which students often are responsible to pay back.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Degree and certificate credit shall be granted for credit courses completed with a letter grade of “C-minus” or better, or with a grade of “P” (Pass).
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The student must complete at least twenty-five percent of the minimum credit requirements at Gateway to earn a degree to certificate.
