Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  Applicants with a GPA of 2.0 or higher are admitted with Clear academic status. Applicants with less than a 2.0 are admitted on Academic Probation. Some programs have higher GPA requirements.
• Official Transcripts:
  Official college transcripts are required from every institution attended.
• SAT Scores:
  Not required for general admissions consideration.
• Letters of Recommendation:
  Not required for general admissions consideration.
• Essay:
  Not required for general admissions consideration.
• Application Fee:
  None.
• Interview:
  Some programs require an interview.
• Other Requirements:
  Some programs have additional admissions requirements.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  In general, credit may be granted for courses where a grade of D has been earned if the applicant's cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher

Information for Transfer Out Students

• Transfer Agreements:
  The Alabama General Studies Committee guarantees that courses listed in thhe STARS/AGSC Guide will transfer from Gadsden State to participating 4-year state colleges and universities.
• Special Programs:
  The Advising Center offers advisemeent for students planning to transfer to 4-year institutions. Generally, STARS Guides are used to ensure that students' coursework will transfer to in-state colleges and universities.
