Founded 176 years ago in 1834, Franklin College is a residential four-year undergraduate liberal arts institution with a scenic, wooded campus located 20 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis. The college prepares men and women for significant careers through the liberal arts, offering its 1,060 students over 30 majors, including biology, business, education and journalism. In 1842, the college began admitting women, becoming the first coeducational institution in Indiana and the seventh in the nation. Franklin College maintains a voluntary association with the American Baptist Churches USA.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Admission decisions regarding transferring students are based upon the academic record at both the post-secondary institution and the secondary school. Students transferring to Franklin College must be in good standing both academically, socially and financially with their previous institution.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official H.S. transcript or GED certificate.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT or ACT scores with writing section.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Transfer Student Recommendation Form (PDF format), this form is required for all applicants who have attended another institution since completing high school.
  • Essay:
    Written personal statement-Side Note: personal statement should be 1 or 2 pages,typed and should address why you have chosen to transfer to Franklin College. If out of H.S. for more than 5 years, need not submit a transcript or SAT/ACT scores.
  • Application Fee:
    $40 online application fee
  • Other Requirements:
    Transfer students who intend to enroll at the college must submit a $100 enrollment deposit to the Office of Admission, which is refundable prior to the 1st of May.
