  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Financial aid award packages generally consist of a combination of federal grants and/or loans. Students with the greatest financial need are awarded funding first but there is aid available for students without need. In addition, students may also qualify for work-study, scholarships and tuition waivers. Types of financial aid include grants, loans, and scholarships.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA requirement for transfer admission consideration is 2.4 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all colleges attended are required. Official high school transcript (transfer applicants with less than 13 college credits)
  • SAT Scores:
    ACT or SAT test scores (transfer applicants with less than 13 college credits). Note: For the SAT, Fort Lewis College uses just the Critical Reading and the Mathematics section.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two letters of reference from teachers, advisors or counselors are recommended.
  • Essay:
    A personal essay is recommended.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $40 application fee.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Academically-based courses completed with a grade of a “C-“ or better from a regionally accredited institution generally will transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 60 credits can transfer from a regionally accredited 2-year school and a maximum of 90 credits from a 4-year school. You must earn 30 or the last 40 credits in residence to earn a bachelor's degree. Min. of 13 credits to transfer.
