  • Accepts Transfers:
    Fordham University welcomes transfer students because we value the diversity these students bring to the campus community.
  • Transfer Applications Received:
    Each year the Transfer Admission Committee evaluates approximately 1800 transfer applications for both the Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses.
  • Degree Completion Programs:
    Fordham School of Professional & Continuing Studies (PCS) welcomes applicants who wish to begin or resume their college degree programs primarily through evening, weekend and on-line class attendance, and usually on a part-time basis.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The recommended minimum GPA is 3.0.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school and college transcripts, from every institution attended, are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required if applying with less than one completed year of full-time college coursework.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    A letter of good standing from your current College Dean is required of all applicants. Although recommendations from faculty are not required, it is helpful to send a letter to support your application.
  • Essay:
    A personal statement describing the reasons for transferring is required.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $70 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    There are additional requirements for applicants to the Dance, Theatre, and Visual Arts programs.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses taken at accredited institutions that are equivalent to courses offered at Fordham when a grade of at least a C has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Up to 75 credits may be accepted in transfer from other accredited institutions or institutions with which there is an affiliation agreement. Of the total transfer credits accepted, up to 36 may be applied to the requirements of the Core Curriculum.
